Week 2 Let learning begin!
A full week of school, we did it! They have fallen into routine so well (thank you for all your help at home getting the days started off right and helping them with the homework routines at night), they smiled beautifully for their school photos, and have been learning so much! I honestly feel like this has been one of our smoothest starts to the beginning of the year, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has to bring:)
Mrs. Lauf stopped by to work in the Prayer Garden, so of course we had to invite her in for some hugs and to see how big her 1st Graders got over the summer!
They had their School Safety Meeting with Mr. Veit today and wanted to show me their dance that they learned to help them remember the steps :)
The Morning Tubs have been a favorite of everyone so far this year....Love their creativity!
We had a special visitor this week-they really enjoyed having Monsignor stop by and answer a lot of their questions...and listen to their stories (because we sometimes have a hard time telling the difference lol)
The smiles they used in their school photo vs. the smiles they wanted to use in their school photos...I'll let you decide which is which:)
Doing a phenomenal job with writing their numbers!!
Taking notes like big kids for the first time!! So exciting!! We have started learning about different types of writing and we are starting work on Opinion Papers (not onion papers...even though both words have very similar letters haha)...We have talked a lot about what an opinion is and how everyone has different opinions-and that that is ok! We might not agree with everyone's opinions but we do have to respect them:)
They LOVED getting to use the books in Mass! We are working on finding page numbers quickly and quietly but for their first time, it was all excitement and trying our best!
LOVE THE HOT SUN:)
Starting Reading!!!!!
If they focus during the lesson and only draw what and when I give them directions, then they earn free draw time at the end-that may be their favorite part.
Our First Word Search!
Brain Breaks are the best!
A little Chromebook educational website time as a reward for getting logged in :)
Can you tell I ended up on recess duty a lot this week?!
After working hard to write and illustrate books about our classroom family, everyone got a turn to read their story from the story time chair.
Learning to tell time the "old fashioned way"
See you for week 3!
