Week 6 Walking Field Trip
Even with a shortened week and a sub thrown into the mix, we accomplished A LOT this week!!! Patterns, building, writing, and detective work....so much fun!!!
Everyone made patterns out of their names this week, it was so interesting to see how everyone's turned out!
Using our teamwork skills to help sort shapes by their attributes (we learned that that's a fancy math word for traits-the things that make a something what it is).
After some delays, we finally got around to addressing and sending our friendly letters! Thank you all for getting me those addresses so quickly!
The kiddos loved writing their letters and were very excited to walk to the Post Office to mail them off. They had a lot of questions for the Postal Workers and had a wonderful time:)
Mass Time!
We finished our first mystery book!!! They loved predicting their way through the twists and turns and becoming detectives-in the end we had the theory correct and we solved the mystery of the Absent Author (she was totally pulling a "Hannah Montana" and we got to learn the word pseudonym)! While I was gone sick, they were so sweet and told the sub not to read it while I was gone because they didn't want to finish it without me:)
Morning Tubs-so much STEM work...and then they decided to make the tallest tower they could, they got to about 6 ft because they made it taller than me. There was so much fantastic teamwork-communicating, proposing and accepting new plans and ideas, working together-it made my heart so happy!!!
When my arms were officially not long enough to help them out, they had to enlist the help of Mr. Veit!
