Week 7 Crafting and Learning

We got to do a little craft learning for science and the kiddos have been very excited to get to do Reading Quizzes!! They also got an extra recess gifted to them from Monsignor in celebration of Helias Homecoming!
Broke out all the coins to start learning about 10s and 1s in Math class!! Thank you for taking the time to find the coins-I know it is a bit of a pain but they help with so many lessons!!









Started Friday morning with a lost tooth!

Celebrating August's Birthday! Happy Birthday, Buddy!

We learned how to be good friends and helpers this week, a teacher had an unexpected emergency so we helped out by sharing our classroom with a few of her students:)

In Religion, we started looking at the 10 Commandments and talking about how God gives us Free Will to make our own decisions but He also gives us tools to help us learn how to make good choices. They even got to take notes in their books.



Moving on to telling time to the half hours!

Everyone loved getting to break out the paint to begin our Science craft :) Especially Ms. Massman, who LOVES crafting!!!

Throughout the day on Monday we took time to put up the Fall decorations in our classroom :)


















Oh! And we did some partner reading-I love hearing them read to each other. They are getting better everyday at reading with feeling and being fluent!

Day 1!

 What a wonderful first day! They were so excited for everything we did, listened well, and were so kind to one another!!! We talked about first day jitters and what makes us feel better when we are nervous-then we made some "Jitter Juice" to cheers getting over our First Day Jitters!! It took awhile but we finally got our desks and supplies organized, started to learn our rules and routines, and enjoyed cheese pizza and recess- we are officially ready to enjoy our Second Day of Second Grade!                           Everyone found the classroom ok and were ready for Pledge and Prayer right away! Some Playdough Fun while Ms. Massman got attendance completed... A quick round of "Stand Up If..." to get to know one another....we have a lot of readers, bike riders, and candy lovers... Week 22 Catholic Schools Week

 I cannot even begin to explain all of the fun and excitement that happened this Catholic Schools Week so hopefully the photos can speak for themselves :)                                                        Practicing our cursive in shaving cream! Time for Mass :) Group 2 Won the Music Award at the Praise Assembly for January!!!! So many fun assemblies this week-Prayer, Pep, a Magician, and Volleyball! Unhealthy Snack Day Happy Birthday, Joelle! I told them to highlight this when we were doing our Religion Books because in the future if they feel like they are ready to Marry someone, they should see if they can answer yes to this about the other person...if they can then they are probably ready to get married :) They said that I needed to make sure that I highlighted it and remembered it too, these little matchmakers...
