Week 10 Scarecrows and Habitats

This week was filled with a lot of project based learning (My Favorite Kind!!). We crafted some Scarecrows and wrote stories about the Scarecrows' day at school. Then we took on our massive Habitat project! The kiddos had to research a habitat of their choosing, write a report on the weather, plants, and animals found in their habitat, and then create a 3D habitat showcasing their research. It took us all week to break down the steps and make our creations but they turned out SPECTACULARLY! Their drawings and details were adorable! We took a little time to look at each others and give some much deserved compliments to our friends and their hard work!

The Little Mermaid!!

Nothing like a nice fall recess day!

We had an earthquake drill this week...

Nothing like combining Math with snacking! We got to do some apple tasting while learning about fractions this week...Some of us super loved the sour green apple...and some of us had some hilarious faces after trying it :)

Shhhh!!! We were so impressed with how our fellow 2nd Graders did on their class mass that we made up a secret compliment note and snuck it into their classroom. I don't know who enjoyed it more-our class with complimenting and sneaking around or the class we complimented who spent the next two recesses trying to discover who left the note :) We love doing little acts of kindness!

Mass time!

Showing off their Math Tub Creations!

Hard at work crafting their habitats :)

Doing a little partner work in Religion: They are getting really good at memorizing the Act of Contrition to be able to say it at their First Reconciliation!

Brain Breaks-always active and hilarious! Our favorites this week have been the Hocus Pocus Halloween Runs

Our little scarecrow craft!

Practicing our Math Facts by playing the "Making 10s" Game.
