Tuesday Things

The kiddos have been dying for a science experiment  so we had one today! We learned about the power of a smile : ) While students stared at a smiling face, another student attempted to push down their arm...it held pretty steady. Then the students stared at an angry face, another student attempted to push down their arm-their arms fell down more easily and quickly....We talked about how our feelings and emotions can effect others and what kind of power we want to be sharing with our feelings and emotions!! Enjoy their journal entries 😊

Day 1!

 What a wonderful first day! They were so excited for everything we did, listened well, and were so kind to one another!!! We talked about first day jitters and what makes us feel better when we are nervous-then we made some "Jitter Juice" to cheers getting over our First Day Jitters!! It took awhile but we finally got our desks and supplies organized, started to learn our rules and routines, and enjoyed cheese pizza and recess- we are officially ready to enjoy our Second Day of Second Grade!                           Everyone found the classroom ok and were ready for Pledge and Prayer right away! Some Playdough Fun while Ms. Massman got attendance completed... A quick round of "Stand Up If..." to get to know one another....we have a lot of readers, bike riders, and candy lovers... Week 1 Adventure Begins

Playing outside... They love to sing while they work, just like me... They were a little excited to hear about Msgr's surprise to celebrate The Assumption...  Whew! We made it through our first (sort of) week! We have went to Art, PE, and Music, had our first all school Mass, gotten a few actual lessons done, and did a lot of getting to know one another! The kiddos have been so polite and such wonderful listeners, they are on my level about singing while working, and are getting very interested in our Read Aloud (I think they are going to LOVE when we get into longer chapter books). Thank you for all your work in getting them ready and going this week, I know starting the routine back up is hard but it is so wonderful once we get going.                                                   Loving our First PE class!
